This procedure, which employs a fractional CO2 resurfacing laser, was pioneered by Dr Bruce Katz, a Manhattan dermatologist.It results in significant long lasting improvements for droopy upper eyelids, crow’s feet, dark circles and wrinkled, loose skin under the eyes.
Usually a series (3-5) treatments 2-3 weeks apart are required for the desired effect; it is done under local anaesthesia(topical gel) , with corneal shields in place to protect the surface of the eye. Downtime is minimal - 2 days of swelling & redness, followed by another 2-4 days of slight redness and flakiness, which can be covered up with make-up.
Patients with excessive droopiness/extra skin may be better suited to a surgical blepharoplasty for optimal results.
